| What are your backup processes? |
| RackCorp makes daily snapshots of all webservers at approximately 2am every day in the local time of where the server is located. Snapshots are kept offsite in multiple locations for a rolling period of 7 days. We also maintain monthly backups of this data for 1 year. If you wish to have a restore of your web data, please submit a ticket stating the period that you wish restored. We can do partial restores, so if you only want some files restored, please state this in the request. |
| Can I host CGI Applications? |
| The ONLY form of CGI we support on our shared web platform is PHP. If you want to host other CGI applications, please speak to support and enquire about a virtual server. |
| Can I host ASP pages, Perl pages, or others? |
| We do not support ASP or Perl or any CGI other than PHP. If you want to host an ASP or Perl app, please speak to support and enquire about a virtual server. |
| Can I have multiple URLs pointing to the same website? |
| Yes, you can add aliases via the RackCorp portal under SERVICES -> WEBSITES. Please note that only the "primary hostname" will show up on any invoices. |
| Can I redirect a URL to another website? |
| Yes, you can add redirections via the RackCorp portal under SERVICES -> WEBSITES. |
| What is the difference between NGINX and Apache? |
| We give you the option of selecting either NGINX or Apache. NGINX tends to be a bit faster, and is the recommended configuration for customers. If you require rewrite rules, it is recommended to use Apache, however our support staff will be more than happy to help if you wish to switch over to using NGINX rewrite policies. You can change your website server type at any time in SERVICES -> WEBSITES, but please note that switchover may take up to 10 minutes to process. |
